Hummus with Paprika and Toasted Sesame Seeds

 
This hummus beats the store bought stuff any day, especially when topped with toasted sesame seeds and paprika. Serve with flavorful crackers, fresh vegetables or pita chips.

This hummus beats the store bought stuff any day, especially when topped with toasted sesame seeds and paprika. Serve with flavorful crackers, fresh vegetables or pita chips.

Preparation

In a food processor, puree the chickpeas with the garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, cumin, salt and pepper. Add about 1/4 cup of water and blend until creamy. Taste and season.

Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with paprika and toasted sesame seeds, and serve.

1 15 ounce can chickpeas, rinsed, or 1.5 cups cooked chickpeas

1 clove garlic, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for serving

1 lemon, juiced

2 tablespoons tahini

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon paprika

black pepper to taste
